Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Richard Rausch, Principal
This is my second year at St. John's as an educator. I am honored to be part of the St. John's Lutheran Church and School family! My story began here 40 years ago as I was baptized and schooled here from kindergarten through the third grade. My parents and step-parents raised my sister and I to take care of each other and to believe in God, while living the Great Commission. We have been blessed with a large extended family in this area that value family, faith, and service to others.
I trained to be a teacher and coach at Bluffton College. Further education in the area of youth ministry was obtained through Tent Makers Youth Ministry in Minnesota. I served at Our Saviours Lutheran in Humboldt, Iowa before returning to begin my teaching career. I have been fortunate to work for the Fairbanks Local School District, and North Union Local School District, collaborating with over 50 different teachers. While teaching at Fairbanks I finished my principal training at the University of Findlay.
My wife, Kristine, and I have been married for thirteen years and have three children Leo (10), McClellan (8) and Allison (5). We enjoy playing games, being outside, laughing, watching movies, traveling to see family and helping others. My mission as the principal is to equip, believe in, and support each staff member, student, and family at St. John's School and Church. My wife, children and I are excited to be members of this congregation and community. We look forward to knowing, growing, and sowing Jesus!!
Psalm 46 is one of the verses that I both remember and look to often...God is Our Fortress!
