"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice." Philippians 4:4

I guess you could say that education is in my genes. I followed in my father's footsteps to pursue a career in education. Although he is now retired, he was a high school English teacher for 32 years at a school near my hometown in Wisconsin. Go Badgers and Packers!

I received my B.A. in elementary education along with a Spanish minor at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. I took my first teaching position right here at St. John's in 1990 and have been here ever since. I started out as the 2nd grade teacher. I held that position for 15 years before moving on to 3rd grade for three years. I am currently in my fifth year as the 4th grade teacher.

My husband Paul and I reside in Marysville with our two children. Philip is a junior at Fairbanks High School and Elizabeth is an 8th grader at St. John's. We have 3 small dogs (Daisy, Duke, and Leo) who keep us on our toes.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and watching my children participate in their activities. I also play the clarinet and sing and play percussion instruments on the Haven Community Church worship team.
