Fourth Grade Teacher
Lois Lowry
I guess you could say that education is in my genes. I followed in my father's footsteps to pursue a career in education. Although he is now retired, he was a high school English teacher for 32 years at a school near my hometown in Wisconsin. Go Badgers and Packers!
I received my B.A. in elementary education along with a Spanish minor at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter Minnesota. I took my first teaching position right here at St. John's in 1990 and have been here ever since. I started out as the 2nd grade teacher. I held that position for 15 years before moving on to 3rd grade for three years. I am currently in my third year as the 4th grade teacher.
My husband Paul and I reside in Marysville with our two children. Philip is a freshman at Fairbanks High School and Elizabeth is a 6th grader at St. John's. We have 3 small dogs (Daisy, Duke, and Leo) who keep us on our toes.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and watching my children particpate in their activities. I also play the clarinet and sing and play percussion instruments on the Haven Community Church worship team.
Class Highlights--Independent projects about an Ohio Native American group and a famous Ohioan in social studies, planet and water cycle projects in science, leadership roles in the 1st-4th grade spring musical, learning to play the recorder, collecting materials and assembling dental kits for Southern Ohio for our mission project
