Serving the Lord with Gusto!

I would like to share an incredible story from one of our very own St. John’s students.  Good afternoon. I wanted to share a proud mom moment with you about Megan Vollrath.  For her birthday this year, she wanted to send money to Haiti through Tom Donnelly who visited St John’s and told the kids about his ministry. She asked her friends to donate money in lieu of receiving any gifts for herself. Altogether, she pulled together $250.00 from birthday donations from her friends and family.  We sent a check and letter to Tom Donnelly at Firmly Rooted with an explanation of her birthday wish and donation, along with a picture of Megan holding a pretend check made out to Firmly Rooted for $250.00.

 

Please read an excerpt from a letter sent to Megan from TomDonnelly at Firmly Rooted Ministry, “I thank God for your generous spirit and heart of compassion. Your letter and contribution truly lifted my heart.  Your servant heart is evident and your choice and desire to reach out to the children in Haiti.  I am so honored to send your gift of $250 to the Children of Israel Orphanage (CIO) to assist with their education, housing, and daily needs.”

 

In February I asked Mr. Hartmann for the information of the Firmly Rooted Ministry and he provided the contact information.  Just wanted you to see where Megan has taken this.  We are so very proud of her!  Almost all of the girls in the fourth grade class were a part of this awesome outreach as they helped support this donation.
